I am a firm believer in the word “Serendipity”. It means to find something great by accident which is why we named our business Serendipity Videography. Plus we are huge John Cusack fans and we love the movie Serendipity. I digress….. Working with Stephanie and Stephen was serendipity. When Stephanie’s mom called me a few weeks before her 10/17 DC Ranch wedding asking if we were available it was one of those moments that happened for a reason. We had just had a Videography Crew come available that had been booked. Mom and I got to talking and she said her daughter was a wedding photographer here in the valley. Her mom’s name is Marsha Fay, I put 2 and 2 together and I asked “Is your daughter Stephanie Fay of Stephanie Fay Photography?” She said YES! What was weird about this is that I follow a ton of blogs on Google Reader and the day before Google Reader had given me a list of suggestions of blogs I might be interested in and Stephanie Fay Photography was one of them!! I made my way to her website and was tooling around and thinking “WOW she does beautiful work and she just looks like a cool chick. I need to meet this gal”!!! She just looked so friendly and kind and I loved her style. I cruised over to the blog and she was talking about how she was getting married and I found myself thinking I wonder who is shooting her wedding film…. And sure enough her mom called me the next day and hired Serendipity Videography!! We were overjoyed!! Stephanie has worked with lots of Videographers. She could have picked anyone in this town and we were honored that she picked Serendipity. I feel like we were meant to work together. As her mom and I continued to chat my next question was “If Stephanie is a Wedding Photographer who is shooting her wedding?” it has to be someone totally fabulous. She says to me have you heard of Jasmine Star? Have I heard of Jasmine Star….. Jasmine Star in wedding world is like asking someone in fashion if they have heard of “Jimmy Choo” shoes. It turns out that Stephanie mentored under David Jay and met Jasmine Star through him. I am a follower of Jasmine Star’s blog. I am not a photographer nor do I plan to be but she blogs often and about all sorts of things. Her dog Polo, her husband JD, their adventures, Photography stuff. Her blog is a real gem and followed by thousands. She is as real as it gets and she is everything she portrays herself to be and more when we worked with her. So not only in this wedding did I get to meet Stephanie and Stephen, who are amazing Photographers who are making quite a name for themselves doing Destination Weddings but we also got the opportunity to work with Jasmine Star and JD her totally awesome husband. It was an honor.

So now onto the details of Stephanie and Stephen’s “fantabulous” wedding….. Stephanie is totally hip and cute and fun and had a distinct style for her wedding. Think “vintage” with a little bit of Chabby Chic mixed in. Her theme was carried throughout her entire wedding. From her gorgeous Hollywood Glam makeup and hair to her tables dressed with vintage tea cups that she picked up from thrift stores. One of my favorite details at her wedding were the birdcages she used as decor throughout the courtyard. Her florals by Petal Pushers were stunning. They were the perfect compliment to her vintage theme. It was a beautiful wedding, a beautiful couple and an amazing experience working with Stephanie and Stephen fellow wedding world colleagues. Here is their wedding movie trailer. Stay tuned for more to come soon……
