Petal Pusher is one of our favorite florists to work with. Not only is her work unique, stunning and inspired but Tamara understands your vision and brings it to life in her arrangements. On top of that she is just so pleasant work with. All of my brides LOVE her sweet smile, warm demeanor and willingness to accommodate even the most unusual of requests. We have had the pleasure of working with Petal Pusher at a number of weddings last Spring and this past Fall so we put together this film for Petal Pushers new website and blog that will be debuting soon. It shows the diversity of Petal Pushers work and that the sky truly is the limit with florals.

SKM Entertainment is one of our absolute favorite DJ’s that we work with that I wanted to showcase them as a “Vendor We Love”. From the vendor side of things we love SKM Entertainment for so many reasons…. but I want to call attention to a few because as a couple shopping for a DJ these are things that are super important but that you may not think of when doing your research….

-First SKM Entertainment thinks that the most important people at a wedding besides the bride and groom of course are the Photographer and Videographer. When DJing your wedding they don’t make a move until the Photographer and Videographer are set to capture the event that is about to unfold.

-Second they come with a 2 man team which allows one of the DJ’s to leave the booth to alert the Photographer and Videographer about the schedule and let us know if something is about to take place that we need to capture. This is especially important if the Photographer is taking a few detail photos outside of the reception or the Videographer is shooting interviews in the hallway.

-Third SKM Entertainment does their very best to know when the Photographer and Videographer are shooting until so that they can taylor the schedule to make sure that all important events are captured by both the Photographer and Videographer before they wrap up for the evening.

-Fourth they are just super easy to work with and so much fun. When SKM Entertainment is hosting the evening we know it is going to be so much fun to shoot because the flow is going to be awesome, the dance floor packed and the guests are going to be having a fabulous time which makes for fantastic Videography.

I got a very unique perspective of SKM Entertainment when I was planning my parents 40 Year Vow Renewal. I got to be a “bride” and see the other side of things. I was so impressed with their level of service and expertise. Here are elements I loved when I was planning my parents event…

-SKM Entertainment matched our event up with a DJ that fit the personality and style of the crowd. In our case we got Miles who was the perfect fit for our crowd because he has a vast knowledge of the music my parents loved. They have 8 different DJ’s to choose from with all different styles and expertise and they match you with the one that will best fit you as a couple as well as your type of event.

-When we sat down with SKM we went through an entire questionaire that guided us through and helped us build a timeline of the event. That same questionaire helped us determine what music we wanted played, what music we didn’t want played as well as how interactive we wanted the DJ to be. In my parents case they wanted total interaction so Miles did a “Not So Newlywed Game” with my parents which was a blast as well as did a whole segment where he taught the crowd how to dance which was hysterical. He also broke out props for the crowd and we did a Congo line. What was great about this process was we totally got to customize and craft an event that not only fit my parents taste but the vibe of their crowd.

-The SKM Presentation…. SKM isn’t a bunch of dudes who show up with a box of CD’s and a table. SKM is more of a production. From their well crafted DJ booth that hides all equipment, to their awesome Intelligent Lights to their DJ’s being all dressed in suits. Their presentation of themselves as well as their equipment is one of the most professional we have seen.

Corinna Cooke has done the make-up of a number of Serendipity brides over the past 5 years and my sentence to sum up Corinna’s fabulous stylings with make-up is “She makes you look like the best version of yourself just with a little more sass.”  All of my brides always look fresh, stunning and not over done. She takes their best features and makes them pop. Many brides biggest fear on their wedding day if they get their make-up done is that their groom won’t recognize them because they look “caked on”. Corinna’s style is anything but!! So we chose Corinna to do our make-up at my parents 40 Year Vow Renewal a few weeks ago. Corinna is so fun to hang out with because her personality lights up a room and she is just one of the girls talking about Spanxs and Botox. Plus she has the COOLEST accent ever! Her make-up expertise blew my mind. Her experience ranges from doing weddings to runway to working with the stars to commercial shoots. She did all of the bridesmaids make-up as well as the bride at my parents Vow Renewal and we all walked away feeling beautiful and like a bunch of hotties. She brings not only an incredible energy with her but tremendous expertise about all things make-up and skin care. And boy does she come with a bag of tricks! Her make-up cases are chocked full of hundreds of colors, brushes and lashes. She even comes with her own special chair to seat you in. When Corinna does your make-up you feel like a princess and walk away looking like one too! It was really cool to see my mom’s look on her face when Corinna showed her what her finished make-up looked like. You could just tell that she felt beautiful, vibrant and like a beautiful woman!! Thank you Corinna for being a part of making us all look amazing at my parents 40 Year Vow Renewal!!

One of my favorite brides ever from last Fall, Rachel, of Rachel and Greg has started a new and fabulous venture. It is called Couture Candy Co. She specializes in spectacular candy bars that are not just a favor for your guests but a showpiece at an event. Well she and I got to chatting about the wedding biz and knowing how fabulous she is I just knew that she had to share her creative confection displays at my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal. With the navy and lime green color scheme I knew she would create something unbelievable. Especially since she had all of these super cute details that she had created for her own wedding. Let me just say that she blew my mind with her display! It was better than anything I could have ever imagined. The colors, the different shapes and sizes of her containers, the green sand, the rock candy. It was over the top and it was divine!! The guests came in the door and were immediately drawn to it. Everyone stopped and stared and took pictures and packed their bags full of candy. They couldn’t stop talking about how this was the coolest thing they had ever seen. I know Couture Candy Co. will be a HUGE success. Rachel is available for all sorts of events… Baby showers, weddings, bridal showers, kids parties… The sky is the limit and she can create anything with any color scheme.
