I still remember where I was standing when Lauren called me to tell me the news. She said “Taryn you are NEVER going to believe this but Justin and I have been picked for the show My Fair Wedding with David Tutera!!!!” It is actually a CRAZY story how it all worked out… We have known Justin and Lauren for a few years now. We had the pleasure of shooting Lauren’s sister’s wedding 2 years ago and we have become the official Wedding Cinematographer for Lauren and Andrea’s friends which is AWESOME. So when it came time for Lauren to walk down the aisle she called us and we were of course overjoyed because she and Justin are the COOLEST people ever not to mention smokin’ dancers so we always like shooting them cuttin’ the rug at weddings. They make many cameo’s in our wedding films. Anyhoooooo…. We were just weeks from their wedding and they were having MAJOR issues with their venue. So much so that literally just weeks before their event they walked from the property. Now this was July in Southern California so the chances of getting a new venue weeks before your wedding was slim to none. So Lauren decided to apply for My Fair Wedding on a lark and low and behold her and Justin got picked for the show!!!! If that does not follow the old adage of “everything happens for a reason” I don’t know what does!! Now if you don’t know the premise of the show basically David Tutera comes in and completely blows out your wedding and re-plans it using all of the latest styles and trends. Now if you are unfamiliar with David’s work it is nothing short of spectacular. The designs and vision that he has are unparalleled. All Lauren and Justin told David was that they were having an Asian Fusion wedding and he put together the most magnificent wedding ever! Flash forward a few weeks and we were in Southern California shooting Lauren and Justin’s wedding film next to a TV crew and David Tutera. It was a once and a lifetime experience that we will never forget and hands down the best day of Lauren and Justin’s life. The episode aired last night so we are finally able to show Lauren and Justin’s Wedding Film. Congratulations you two. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you over the past couple of years and we are so excited to see what life has in store for you!!

We met Roger and Stephanie through one of our past couples Jane and Kyle at Jane and Kyle’s wedding. Roger was tearing it up on the dance floor at their wedding. Anyone with skills like that is alright in our book so we were just so excited to be a part of documenting his and Stephanie’s special day. They actually got married on “Carmageddon” which ended up not being the HUGE deal that the media made it out to be. They got married at the spectacular Walt Disney Concert Hall. This uber chic and contemporary venue was awesome to shoot at. One of my favorite parts of the night was at the Reception when the DJ called up couples from a list Roger and Stephanie had given him and asked those couples do kiss and whatever that kiss was Roger and Stephanie had to replicate it. Each kiss got even more crazy with choreography and lots of moving parts. It was awesome to see Roger and Stephanie try to duplicate some of these crazy kisses. I have never seen that done before and I thought it was a super fun twist to the generic bang on your glass with a fork and the couple has to kiss that we have all seen 1000 times. I present to you the story of Roger and Stephanie…. Thank you for allowing Serendipity Videography to be a part of documenting your love.

This couple and wedding film are a gem. Jessica and Dave might be the most laid back couple ever. They were so chill on their wedding day. It was all so easy breezy which made them a blast to shoot. They got married at the La Jolla Contemporary Museum that overlooks the breathtaking La Jolla Coast and the views were stunning. A couple of the “deets”, short for details, that I loved about this wedding were their food choices. They did comfort food stations with yummies like Macaroni and Cheese and Sliders which the guests LOVED and instead of a traditional cake this couple did an ice cream and dessert bar. It was all such a big hit because it made the guests feel comfortable and relaxed which is just the personality that Jessica and Dave have. Then to end the evening the guests lined the walkway and Jessica and Dave made their way off into the night under a sea of sparklers. Congratulations to Jessica and Dave! Thank you for allowing Serendipity Videography document your love.

There are couples that you work with and after meeting them and shooting their wedding you just know that you are going to develop a friendship. Jane and Kyle are one of those couples. We have had the pleasure of not just shooting Jane and Kyle’s wedding but also Jane’s awesome sister Anna and Rex’s wedding film. This is a pair of sisters that I will always hold near and dear to my heart. They single handedly have helped us grow our business in California. This time though it was Jane’s wedding day and it was perfect. Jane and Kyle wed in Los Angeles at St. Timothy’s Church and then headed to the luxurious Century Plaza Hotel to celebrate the night away. Jane is a Graphic Artist so her wedding as you could imagine had fabulous details. In true “Jane” fashion the decor was fabulous, elegant and classic. From the raised glass vases that were packed with with a bushel of fresh flowers to the uplighting that added a to the warm ambience of the room to the menu cards designed by the lovely Jane herself it was all so perfect. Jane and Kyle were meant to be. The start of their romance will remind you of a school yard crush and got off to a somewhat stilted start. Jane’s sister Anna tells the story perfectly in her speech. There is also a “surprise” performance by Kyle for his new bride but before I give to much away just watch their film. I know you will love Jane and Kyle as much as we do!! Congratulations Jane and Kyle. Thank you for allowing Serendipity the opportunity to document your love.

Stephanie and Roger were referred to us by one of our past couples Jane and Kyle whose wedding film you will see in the next couple of weeks by the way… Anyway…. Any friend of Jane and Kyle’s is a friend of ours so we were so excited to be a part of documenting Stephanie and Rogers wedding day. Plus we saw Roger put his dancing shoes on at Jane and Kyle’s wedding and after we saw how this cat could move we had to be a part of their wedding!! Stephanie and Roger are an e-harmony success story and I am telling you these days EVERYONE meets online. If you are a working professional and you are over the bar scene this is how you meet your mate. I am fascinated by the dude who came up with e-harmony and what his formula is because what he does is down right amazing. We have been a part of sooooo many weddings now where the couple met on e-harmony and the couples are perfectly suited for one another. Stephanie and Roger are no exception… Downright perfect for one another!! Besides being a wonderful couple and getting married at one of the COOLEST buildings I have ever seen The Disney Concert Hall they did something that I thought was ADORABLE at their reception. You know the whole tap on your glass with a fork and the newlyweds will kiss thing? Well Stephanie and Roger did their own version of this age old tradition but they did it with pizazz and flair! Check this out…. When people tapped on their glasses with their forks the DJ would call up a couple (a list of couples was given to the DJ before hand) and that couple would have to kiss in a fun and creative way. After they kissed Stephanie and Roger would have to duplicate that kiss. By the middle of the evening the kisses the couple were doing were crazy elaborate. One couple choreographed some sort of tango and it involved the girl jumping into the husbands arms and her spinning him around. It was wild!! And Stephanie and Roger had to duplicate. It was fantastic and one of the MOST ORIGINAL things I have seen done at a wedding in a long time. Stephanie and Roger are on to something here and I thing this trend is so cute that it is going to be coming to another reception near you. Congratulations Stephanie and Roger. May your love for one another set the trend for the marriages of those around you!! Thank you for allowing Serendipity to document your day!! PS. We shot this whole wedding on DSLR’s and we are stoked about it.
