I ADORE Indian Weddings. I love the tradition, the meaning, the decor, the outfits. and the dancing. I am fascinated by the colors and intricacy of it all. I especially am touched that more and more we are seeing 2 people come together regardless of culture and religion and joining their lives. It is beautiful to see 2 families come together and teach each other about their traditions and embrace each others way of life. This is the case with Amisha and Adam. Their two worlds collided and they are taken with one another. Their wedding was a 4 day celebration encompassing an Indian wedding and all that entails along with a traditional Christian Ceremony. Amisha and Adam each brought pieces of their heritage and “married” them together to create an exquisite celebration. The families couldn’t be more pleased that they found one another. There is 1 customized wedding film detail that we accommodated in this film. This is actually groom related… Adam the groom really wanted the whole Resevoir Dogs element brought into his wedding film so we accommodated that. Check it out. I think it came out super cool… Thank you Amisha and Adam for allowing us to document your wedding celebration.
Jane and Lance wed this last spring at The Catholic Community Of The Blessed Sacrament and celebrated their nuptials at Pinnacle Peak Country Club. Get ready because their wedding will make you swoon. Now on to their details…. Their wedding had decor elements that were both eye catching and unique. First of all their color scheme was black and yellow which was refreshing. Jane paired these colors with black damask table linens and mahogany chiavari chairs. They had a cake that was gorgeous and as I have said before almost to pretty to eat… almost… I loved that each guest got a Lance Armstrong Live Strong bracelet. The bride was stunning with super cute shoes and fabulous accessories. I loved that she changed her hair style and added a hair accessory for the reception. My absolute hands down favorite part of this wedding had to be the fireworks display that Jane and Lance along with their guests got to enjoy. Jane was like a little girl on the 4th of July seeing fireworks for the first time. She was smiling and clapping and ooohhhing and awwwing while Lance squeezed her tight. This day will forever he one of their best ever. We wish you all the love in the world Jane and Lance.
Thank you to these vendors for making Jane and Lance’s wedding celebration spectacular:
Today I want to focus on is the bride a right fit for your business? The vendor/bride relationship is a 2 way street. It is just as much about the bride thinking you are the right fit for her wedding as it is you thinking she is the right fit for your business. A lot of factors come into play with this. Does the bride get your “art”? Are you on the same page with expectations and what will be delivered? Do you communicate well? We have all been guilty especially when you are new of taking the business even though you had a feeling the bride wasn’t the right fit and red flags were flying up all over the place. Now red flags don’t necessarily mean bridezilla it’s a matter of whether you click. But you took these brides for various reasons… because you were new and wanted experience with more weddings or you wanted an opportunity to shoot at a particular venue or work with a particular vendor or because you are competitive and wanted to get the business. You quickly learn though that the headache of partnering with a bride where you are not a good fit is not worth it in the end. You will both end up frustrated and that is not good for your bride or for your business. Now when I sit down with a bride I like to ask her as many questions as she asks me. I really work at understanding her vision for her wedding film. What she likes, doesn’t like and can we accommodate those wishes. The most important thing besides connection though is do we fit her style? In the appointment you can tell almost immediately if you are feeling the “love” for each other. With Videography the majority of our work is done after the wedding and you are with these brides for months so if you take on a bride that isn’t a good fit she is with you for a while. The goal is for the bride to leave completely satisfied and for you to continue to build your brand and business in a positive fashion. In the age of blogs and forums one bride who is dissatisfied can weigh pretty heavy out there in the blogosphere if she feels compelled to write a negative review. So it’s best to refer her to another vendor who may be a better fit rather than run the risk of the relationship going south and the bride being unhappy and that leading to negative ramifications on your business. Although it is hard to let go of potential business and send her into the arms of another vendor, potentially a competitor, I find that you almost always book the date with a bride who is perfect for you and you perfect for her.
The ladies at A Day To Cherish Weddings and Celebrations were doing a photo shoot with Kimberly Jarman Photography and asked us to put together a film of their shoot along with some sound talking about A Day To Cherish Weddings and Celebrations and why they love what they do! I think it came out looking very Sex And The City and fun!! Vendor Films are the perfect way to showcase your talent, ability and staff and personalize who you are and what you do and sell your services and talents to your potential clients.
Nicole and Adam are just perfect. As all of their friends and family kept saying they are “a perfect match”. Their entire wedding day can be described as perfect.. Perfect couple, perfect dress, perfect flowers, perfect weather, perfect venue. The description of what was perfect about this day could go on and on. They deserved perfect though because the day before their weddings things were far from perfect…. Adam the groom had food poisoning and was so sick that he didn’t even make it to the Rehearsal Dinner. Everyone was on pins and needles us included to see how Adam would be on his wedding day and sure enough he rose to the occasion. We know he wasn’t 100% but you would never have known it. He was all smiles though and ready to marry the women of his dreams, Nicole. Nicole was stunning on her wedding day. She was picturesque and looked like she stepped out of the pages of a high fashion bridal magazine. Nicole and Adam you are fabulous. Thank you for allowing us to be a apart of documenting this blessed day.
We had the distinct pleasure of working with these vendors at Nicole and Adam’s wedding celebration:
